Give Your Gear a Second Life!

Give your used gear a second life and support local climbing access! Outdoor Gear Exchange (OGE) is partnering with CRAG-VT to bring a pop-up consignment shop to the Vermont Climbing Festival this September. Clean out your closet, earn store credit, score great deals on used gear, and help fund local access and trail conservation efforts in the Green Mountains.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Drop off your used gear: Bring your clean, gently used climbing gear to Outdoor Gear Exchange’s Burlington store during the drop-off window. OGE will inventory, tag, and transport it directly to the festival ground.
  • Shop the pop-up: Visit the OGE pop-up shop at the festival to browse consigned racks, shoes, technical clothing, and essentials like chalk and snacks.
  • Give back to local climbing: OGE is donating 10% of all shop proceeds directly to CRAG-VT. When consigning your gear at OGE, you can also opt to donate a percentage, or all, of your payout straight to CRAG-VT’s access and conservation projects.

Acceptable Items for Consignment

  • Climbing hardware and gear: Cams, nuts, quickdraws, carabiners, belay devices, etc.
  • Footwear and apparel: Climbing shoes, approach shoes, and technical outerwear/apparel
  • Accessories: Chalk bags, crash pads, and gear packs

Note: Gear must pass standard OGE safety inspection at drop-off. Unsafe equipment will be turned away, and soft goods (such as ropes and harnesses) will not be accepted.

Important Dates

  • Gear drop-off window: August 28th – September 20th, 2026 (at Outdoor Gear Exchange in Burlington)
  • Festival Shop Hours: 
    • Friday, September 25th: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    • Saturday, September 26th: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Closes right before the keynote presentation)

Payouts AND Unsold Gear

Consignors will earn credit according to standard OGE consignment policies. Any unsold gear will be transported back to OGE in Burlington following the festival weekend, where it will remain available on the floor per your consignment agreement unless retrieved.
